John Tortorella Miserable After Another Flyers Win
If you were wondering when John Tortorella was going to start getting cranky this season, we’re starting to see in November:

What a press conference! One of the greatest ever.

Q: It’s a good quality to have, that even on a night when the team doesn’t have its best, they still find a way to get it done.
Torts: Yeah. Played a good third period. Found a way.
Q: What do you think was the way to get the switch flipped on in the third period?
Torts: I have no idea. Just kept on trying to play.
Q: Is the biggest thing now to make sure it’s a good bounceback in the overall play for Saturday?
Torts: I’m not even thinking about Saturday. I’m thinking about tonight, just, yeah.
Q: It’s good to see Ivan (Fedotov) playing well –
Torts: Played really good.
Q: He kept the team in it for most of the game –
Torts: Yep.
Q: What is about him that’s settling in now?
Torts: He’s stopping the puck. Competing so much harder and stopping the puck. That’s two in a row from him.
Q: Anthony Richard brings a lot of speed to the lineup. Another good game from him. What is it that’s helping him create offense right now?
Torts: Well he’s just playing. He’s an offensive guy and I think his speed helps. I thought him and Bobby (Brink) had a lot to do with us getting back in it there, he had a good camp and just plays. He’s a good offensive player.
Q: Was it disjointed because of the power plays and penalty kills –
Torts: I have no idea. I have no idea. It’s the National Hockey League at its best. Play as bad as we did and come out a winner. I have no idea.
Is this the Torts formula for the season? When the team loses, he’s even-tempered and speaks at length to media. When the team wins, he doesn’t like the overall performance, and gives 79-second pressers like this one. You never know with the guy. But what matters is that Matvei Michkov scored an overtime game winner. He’s got 13 points in 15 games. The team battled back from a two-goal deficit in the third. Ivan Fedotov saved 33 of 37 shots and got another win. The team has won three of four and looks much better in OT and the shootout. We’re taking baby steps here. We’re continuing the rebuild and then we will #BringItToBroad.
MATVEI MICHKOV WINS IT IN OVERTIME!!!
