“They had two big runs and three good deep shots. Other than that we made them earn it. You take away the scoreboard it was about five plays that decided this game.”
Well, okay, yes, if you take away the big explosive plays and only leave the small, not-impactful plays, then the Dallas defense did a decent job. You could say that about any game in the history of the NFL. Just remove the game-changing, momentum-swinging plays and it was tight!
To be fair, the Cowboys’ offense turned the ball over four times, and the Eagles capitalized on those turnovers. Seven of the points came from a pick six. But Jalen Hurts didn’t even play and a Kenny Pickett/Tanner McKee tandem was 6 for 13 on third down, so it wasn’t like the Cowboys’ defense put on a 1985 Chicago Bears-type of performance.
Anyway, Parsons has a club option remaining for 2025, which comes with a $24 million cap hit. After that, he becomes an unrestricted free agent, and can pursue his dream of playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
