Eagles have a half-dozen Pro Bowl players:

Three-fifths of the offensive line and the 2,000-yard running back. Easy selections right there. Jalen Carter is a no-brainer and Zack Baun being pulled off the scrap heap on a one-year deal to become a Pro Bowl linebacker will go down as one of the best Howie Roseman moves of all time, if not one of the best Eagles free agent signings ever. This guy was a tweener hybrid and special teamer in New Orleans, identified by the Birds as their starting middle linebacker for 2024 and the guy proved them to be completely right.

The biggest omission is easily Jordan Mailata, who has been one of the highest-graded players by Pro Football Focus and other similar outlets. Grading is, of course, arbitrary, and sometimes fugazi, but the guy also passes the eye test, and has been a brick wall at left tackle all year long, which, by the way, is the more important side of the line since he’s on Jalen Hurts’ blindside. I guess the midseason hamstring injury, which limited him to 12 games this year, is the reason why he didn’t make the cut.

Alternates include Mailata, A.J. Brown, Quinyon Mitchell, and Josh Sweat. Cooper DeJean may have been in there had he played a full season. A.J. missed a couple of games, received less than 100 targets, and still went for 1,000 yards on a team that had a 2k rusher. Mitchell was a lockdown corner for the first 75% of the year, and Sweat became the best EDGE after a slow start. Honestly, I think Mekhi Becton played well all year and should have at least been an alternate, but who knows?
