Monday was super-busy and we never got to the news that Mike McCarthy and Dallas are parting ways. Troy Aikman had this to say on Monday Night Countdown:

“I thought Mike McCarthy would be the head coach so this is a little bit of a surprise to me that he’s not going to be, and what went into those conversations that (Adam) Schefter talked about, I’m not really sure. But it suggests that there’s not a real plan, and the fact that they haven’t had an opportunity to make the interview of Ben Johnson, some of these other (candidates), Aaron Glenn, and I think what Schefter said as far as Kellen Moore being a candidate, that seems logical to me. A guy who has familiarity with the building, he worked obviously with the Cowboys and Jerry Jones. In fact, when Mike McCarthy got the job, it was told to Mike that Kellen Moore would be the offensive coordinator, so that’s how much the Jones family thinks of him… As far as a coveted job, I don’t know that that’s accurate. I do think the Cowboys are obviously a high-profile team, and whoever is head coach of that team is going to draw a lot of attention, but I think most football people that take over as a head coach, they want to do it on their terms, and that’s hard to do (with the Cowboys)…”

Yeah no shit, Aikman. There is no plan and there was never a plan. Jerry is just winging it down there. Whomever takes that job has to deal with a meddling owner and 40% of the salary cap going to the quarterback and WR1. They have holes on both sides of the ball and Micah Parsons is leaving to join the Eagles after one more season in the Big D. That team is toast. They’re going nowhere fast. So of course it’s not a coveted job. Go Birds,
