Honestly? I don’t hate it.
The Eagles need help in a lot of areas. They need a corner, linebacker, receiver, interior defensive line, etc. So on and so forth. They are not 1-2 players away from being competitive.
Perhaps they realized this when trading out of the top 10 and picking up an extra first rounder in the process. This allows the Dolphins to go up and get Ja’Marr Chase or Kyle Pitts, but the Eagles are still going to get a good player at #12.
They could end up with:
- Jaylen Waddle
- Patrick Surtain
- Micah Parsons
- Jaycee Horn
- Caleb Farley
- DeVonta Smith
- Rashod Bateman
Yes, it’s easier to miss at 12 than it is at six, but I still think they can nab a damn good player here. I still don’t think Howie can screw it up (jinx).

Wow, so they reportedly liked Wilson. Wonder how much they were willing to offer.
Hey, listen, again – getting more picks is not the worst thing in the world. We’ll take the first rounder next year. Miami is decent enough, and went 10-6 this year, so it won’t be an amazing selection, but it won’t be terrible either. It’ll be closer to the teens than the second round, based on how that division and the AFC looks.
