Thoughts? It’s fine. You need guys to fill the roster. Need guys on the veteran minimum. Need some experience and some ball handling and on-ball defense. Lowry is 38 but checks those boxes and has a longstanding relationship with Nick Nurse. He’ll compete out there.

It’s about finding the right role for him this year. It felt like it was slightly too much at the end of last season, and maybe that was due in part to De’Anthony Melton’s injury issues. Lowry played 29.3 minutes per game as a starter in the New York series. He was great in Game 1 and then much less impactful as the series went on. The best-case scenario for this year is what? 12-15 off the bench? Maybe he runs the second unit, gives you a spot start or some staggered minutes that allow Tyrese Maxey to play the two and work as an off-ball guard, where he really shines.

Also, when Kyle Lowry flops for the Sixers, it’s veteran savvy. When he flopped for other teams, it was reprehensible gamesmanship. There is a clear difference there. Wink wink, nudge nudge.
