It’s the opposition coalition on one side, mostly organized Chinatown groups, and union labor on the other side. Lots of yelling, a shit show, as expected. Councilman Mark Squilla introduced a legislation package that will require approval from the full council. Mayor Parker has already signaled her support for the arena, which everyone saw coming from a mile away, so if it passes council it’s going to be built. They’ll have some committee hearings and we’ll go through the full legislative process in the coming weeks, but we’ll know by mid-December at the latest if the arena is going to be a yes or no. It’s been a long two years, but the moment is upon us, finally.
