The State is Kicking the SEPTA Problem Down the Road Like a Howie Roseman Contract

The SEPTA issue hasn’t necessarily been solved, but it has a resolution for now. Governor Shapiro’s administration approved almost $400 million in capital funds to help restore service, for now:

Basically they’re kicking the can down the road. Like Howie Roseman re-working someone’s deal to free up cap space. An Eagle gets his money up front and there are voidable years strung out over two presidencies. The SEPTA problem is a two years from now problem like the cap hits the Eagles take on in the future. I’ve noticed more my dumb brain can only comprehend things in sports analogies. Honestly I think these litigation issues in the government should be settled more with sports. I think the Democrats and Republicans should’ve just had a football game for SEPTA funding. The Donkeys win they get the terms they want. The ‘Pubs win no more funding SEPTA. Put the ball down and play. How bad do you want it? I want to see eye gouges and blindside tackles you can only see now on YouTube. Enough with the suits barking at each other from behind a podium in allotted times and throwing jabs at each other in the media. It’s time we settle this once and for all. First to score three touchdowns wins (we are talking about politicians here). Imagine John Fetterman playing. First of all, he’s a 6’10 monster and second you don’t know what team he’s on. Sure he’s a Donkey by name, but the pivot he’s made since getting office would make this an electric storyline. Is he winning one for the Gipper or is he pulling a Paul Crewe? To secure a little extra money for the budget we could put it behind a paywall. $2.50 for funsies. I think this is a win-win situation. More politics should be figured out like we’re still in the days of the Roman Colosseum.

The good news is that all service should be restored for Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers games. Express, local, late night trains, the works. No more relying on FanDuel or some other sponsor to get us free rides, though I wouldn’t mind it. SEPTA had those gates HUMMING on Thursday. It was impressive. I was out there hoping to film complete chaos and it was nothing but efficiency, and everyone who has ever come in contact with SEPTA knows that isn’t always the case. 30 minutes after the game everyone was packed and loaded and heading down the BSL back home. Shout out to the everyone at NRG station.
