Flyers Boned on a Goaltender Interference Call in Overtime

The Flyers were robbed in Raleigh on Saturday night.
Bobby Brink scored the game-winning goal in overtime after Travis Sanheim took a feed from Trevor Zegras and cut to the net before being poke-checked and making contact with goaltender Frederik Andersen. The Situation Room, which is anti-Flyers, said Andersen was interfered with enough to call the goal back:
Goaltender Broadcaster Brian Boucher, who I love, tried his best to explain why this call would be made. Perhaps softening the blow to Flyers fans before the referee officially tore our hearts out for the 15th time in the last seven days. But Andersen clearly initiates the contact with Sanheim. It’s likely Sanheim would have made contact anyway, but we’ll never know because Andersen is the culprit here:
Of course Carolina winds up winning it in overtime. We’ve seen this script before. You want to know why Flyers fans are so annoyed at this? Because if Sam Ersson pulled the same shenanigans, the goal would have stood.
That makes 10 losses in a row for Philadelphia teams in the last week. At least it feels that way. What more can possibly go wrong?
