The over/under on points is currently 89.5. That’s mostly consistent across PA sports betting apps and NJ betting apps. They haven’t hit the 90-point mark since 2017-18.
Funny thing is that the Avalanche and Golden Knights are leading the way with 15.3% and 8.0% of the Stanley Cup tickets, respectively, and the Flyers knocked off both of those teams on the road last week. Then they followed up a great road trip with a 4-0 home loss to the Islanders on Monday night. Go figure. Now they’re four points behind New York in the Metro and eight points out of a Wild Card spot with the Bruins and Canadiens reaching 65 points in the Atlantic.
It’s one of those things where you scratch your head because they’re scrapping and clawing and fighting and beating some of the league’s best teams in their own barns, then they smoked by an average divisional foe in the next game. It’s like the Sixers going down to Charlotte and getting their doors blown off, then hammering the Bucks with Joel Embiid and PG the next night.
It’s really hard to put much equity into either team because of the wild fluctuations in form. The Flyers remain in a rebuild and the Sixers have been kept at arm’s length for a couple of seasons now, so the winter sports outlook in Philly is just kind of lame. You’re really hesitant to spend too much time and energy on these teams for obvious reasons, and when you do, you get burned.
The Flyers have been a tough team to bet lately. Maybe we don’t bet them and play online slots instead. Or blackjack online casino.
