This was it right here:

Game on his stick and he misses the net entirely. That’s the snapshot that tells the story of Game 2. He wasn’t the only guy who had a chance, but he’s one of the few who has been here before and wears a letter on his jersey, so you’d expect a big moment at some point from a player who has been quiet in the postseason.

The Flyers took a 2-0 lead and even scored on the power play. They took the crowd out of it and calmed the game down early. But they couldn’t do anything with their six (!) ensuing power plays and couldn’t generate enough offense. It’s the story of this rebuilding season. Just not enough high-end offensive talent. Dan Vladar played a great game, and they battled defensively and went toe-to-toe with a Cup contender. There have been no issues in the goaltending or effort departments. They just don’t have enough firepower and so they’re having to grind and grind to win these close games. Even a few minutes into the the third period you were wondering how they were clinging to that lead.

Good battle, but they fall short and go down 0-2 in the series. On to Game 3.
