The Sixers selected Alabama guard Labaron Philon Jr. with the 22nd pick of the NBA Draft on Tuesday, and while many have praised the pick as one of the best of the first round, others argue the move made little sense for a Sixers team with more glaring needs. There’s a lot of chatter out there about it. Lot to digest. So I went ahead and rounded up what folks are saying today, and I separated everything into three sections: The Good (positive stuff), The Bad (negative stuff), and The One About CVS (self-explanatory). Here we go…

The Good (positive stuff)

The Bad (negative stuff)

The one about CVS:

Some people in the replies are saying Labaron has an NIL deal with CVS and that’s why his Instagram bio link goes to their homepage. I Googled it and discovered that this is true. I found that to be slightly disappointing. Wish I never learned that. Would’ve been funnier if he just had the CVS homepage link in his bio/he just loved CVS/thought it was important to get their website out there.

Bonus Reactions:

Saved these two for the end as a nice blog bonus. Congrats on making it all the way to the end here. As a reward, I will show you the two reactions I found that I personally agree with the most (an opinion that I also wrote about here).

The first one:

And this other one:

Philon rules. He’s going to be so good. Now let’s all watch nine full minutes of Philon highlights while we recover from post-lunch tiredness:
