The Phillies will not extend Alec Bohm a $23.15 million qualifying offer by Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline.

It doesn’t mean his time on that team is over. But that’s the most likely scenario.

Bohm, 30, has played 7 seasons in Philadelphia, .273/.325/.410 with a .735 OPS across 874 games, totaling 85 HRs, 483 RBIs, and a 4.9 WAR. The writing has been on the wall for Bohm’s time in Philadelphia throughout past offseasons, but he’ll now hit free agency, and there will be a market for the corner infielder.

In the Phillies’ ideal world, Aidan Miller is playing third base (or maybe shortstop) at some point in 2027. Bringing Bohm back, even just for one year, would put a halt in those plans. Miller has been tearing up the Arizona Fall League and will try to win a job in camp next season.

With the MLB lockout pending, free agency could pick up over the next few weeks. Players can now sign with teams up until the beginning of December, which is the beginning of the lockout.

The following eight were extended the qualifying offers. They will have until November 17th to accept or deny:

  • Randy Arozarena
  • Seiya Suzuki
  • Brandon Lowe
  • Trevor Rogers
  • Adrian Morejon
  • David Bednar
  • Jake Bauers
  • Ryan Jeffers
