Sensational lede: Not more than 24 hours after DFA-ing coke user Tyson Gillies, the Phillies selected Chris Oliver in the fourth round of the MLB Draft. Oliver, a pitcher from Arkansas, was arrested on Tuesday for DUI. From Yahoo! Sports:
Arkansas pitcher Chris Oliver has been arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, two days after the Razorbacks were eliminated from the NCAA tournament.
Oliver was stopped by Fayetteville police early Tuesday after allegedly making an illegal turn near the university. According to a police report, the 20-year-old pitcher had a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent. The limit for drivers under 21 is 0.02 percent.
Meh. Oliver would’ve been the DD on the 93 team at .09. Hell, he may have been the most sober player on the field with that BAC.
