Yesterday, it was announced that former KYW GM David Yadgaroff (great name, power hair) would step up and fill the hole left behind by Marc Rayfield’s ascendence to CBS in New York. Yadgaroff will now oversee CBS Radio in Philly, making him WIP Operations Manager Andy Bloom’s boss. And per the opinions of several industry sources, this probably isn’t the best news for Bloom, who’s said to be sort of a handful to deal with. Rayfield hired him, and now Rayfield is gone. So the conjecture is obvious.

Other rumblings:

  • Heard two different variants of Spike Eskin chatter: 1) He could be a potential partner to Josh Innes– which would make for the trolliest show in the history of radio. 2) Should Bloom not be long for WIP, Eskin, currently Program Director, could fill the role of Operations Manager, presumably at a cost savings to CBS.
  • Should Bloom go, what would that mean for his boy Josh Innes? I don’t know. Just thinking out loud. I like to think out loud.

Little has happened on the battlefield of late – even wartime has previously scheduled vacations and such – but one of the generals has changed. Maybe there will be some shuffling in his ranks. THE SWEET NOISES OF STRIFE IN THE DISTANCE:
