Medical update from your team, your town, your 76ers:

FEB. 26, 2019 – Furkan Korkmaz underwent successful arthroscopic surgery this afternoon to address the meniscal tear suffered in his right knee during the team’s Feb. 12 matchup vs. Boston. The surgery was performed by Dr. David Altchek, Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Professor of Surgery in Clinical Orthopaedics at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

Korkmaz is out and will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks.

Boban Marjanovic suffered a right knee injury with 1:13 left in the 4th quarter of last night’s game at New Orleans. Marjanovic underwent imaging, an MRI and a CT scan, that revealed a bone bruise and mild sprain of the right knee.

Marjanovic is out and will be re-evaluated in approximately 5-7 days.

I can’t imagine Furkan plays another game as a Sixer. Disappointing for sure, but it is what it is.

A 5-7 day time frame for Boban means he’ll miss Oklahoma City, Golden State, and maybe next week’s home game against the Magic. Thankfully the MRI results came back positive, because the Sixers badly need front court depth heading into the home stretch here.
