The Minnesota Wild Are Reportedly Interested in… Ron Hextall?

In a rather unusual move, the Minnesota Wild fired general manager Paul Fenton this week, a little more than one year into his tenure.
Wild owner Craig Leopold said Chuck Fletcher’s replacement “was not the right fit for the organization,” which seems like a diplomatic way to put lipstick on their pig of a season, a season highlighted (lowlighted?) by trades of Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle, and Mikael Granlund.
Since the NHL is a “retread league,” the Wild are apparently interested in talking to former Flyers GM Ron Hextall:

That would be interesting.
So Hextall is fired in Philly and Chuck Fletcher replaces him. Then Hextall replaces the guy who replaced Fletcher in Minnesota. Then everybody circles Flyers/Wild on the calendar and we make a big deal out of it.
Here’s a tweet:
Ron Hextall would be an ideal candidate for the Wild if he's actually allowed to work at his own pace and not a pace dictated by either aging stars with unmovable contracts or the owner that signed them.

Fair point, though Minnesota ownership would have to be willing to show more patience than Flyers ownership did.
We shall see!
