Aaron Rodgers is the Right Man to Lead the Steelers to a 7-10 Record

Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers for a year:
The Steelers’ QB depth chart is now Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Downingtown’s Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson. Their receiving corps includes DK Metcalf, Robert Woods, Calvin Austin, and then Pat Freiermuth at tight end. There was some buzz about a move for Jonnu Smith, which looks like it’s not going to happen.
You look at the roster and the schedule and you think 7 to 9 wins. They have to play the Ravens and Bengals twice in that division, plus Detroit on the road and Buffalo at home. Minnesota is a neutral-site game in Ireland and they also have to play Green Bay, Seattle, and the Chargers. They open with Justin Fields and the Jets at The Meadowlands. Rodgers also lines up twice across from Myles Garrett. Mind you, this is a team that was riding Russell Wilson in his mid-thirties last season, and collapsed down the stretch. They cycled through Kenny Pickett, Rudolph, and Mitch Trubisky in 2022 and 2023. That was after the Big Ben era quietly ended with first round playoff losses to the Browns, Chiefs, and Jags. The Steelers have only done two things since the end of the Obama administration: jack and shit, and jack left town.
So now what? 36-year-old Wilson bridges the gap to 41-year-old Rodgers, who bridges the gap to Howard? You want the local kid to do well, but he was a 6th-round draft pick. Rudolph and Thompson aren’t franchise quarterbacks. And the Steelers are always .500 or better, so they never have high draft picks. Coincidentally, they have only drafted inside the top 12 twice in 20 years and one of those selections was Ben Roethlisberger.
This will be Mike Tomlin’s first losing season as the Steelers’ head coach. That’s a stone cold, lead pipe lock! They will finish with 7 or 8 wins. The Yinzers will be rightfully angry and demand change, but not before giving up on the season for online slots and online casinos instead. Note as well, that since the Steelers’ last playoff win, the Eagles have won two Super Bowls. The Philadelphia Eagles are the only legitimate football team in Pennsylvania.
