Darren Sproles Plans to Retire After Next Season

Only one year left of exSPROLESions: Darren Sproles has come out and said next year will be his last, whether it’s in Philadelphia or somewhere else. Sproles said he’s starting to get a little sentimental about it, but “it will be time” after next season. While he’s under contract through next season, he said staying in Philadelphia is “up to the people upstairs. I’ve got nothing to do with that, but that’s the plan.”
It will be sad to see Sproles go, but there’s something even sadder here. “[My family] wanted me to [retire] this year,” Sproles said. “I was like, ‘Nah, I can’t. I can’t.’ The thing is, when you’re chasing that ring … you really want to get that ring.'” Oh buddy, I don’t think you’re gonna get it next year either, but we love you anyway.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
