Deebo Samuel Must be Booed Like No One has Ever Been Booed Before

Finally, the San Francisco game. I think it’s safe to say that everyone has had this one figuratively circled on the calendar, from Eagles fans, to players, to Deebo Samuel and his crybaby 49ers teammates and coaches. These guys got their asses totally kicked in the NFC Championship Game, took no accountability, gave no credit to Philly, and whined and complained all through the offseason.
Complainer #1 was Deebo Samuel, who finished with 24 all-purpose yards and a fumble in the game. He whined nonstop about the loss, saying Philly went to the Super Bowl because San Francisco “played with 10 people.” Then he called James Bradberry “trash” and later hung up on Zach Gelb when asked about his comments.
When asked again about the Bradberry thing, he doubled down on it:

After the Bills win, Haason Reddick was asked about San Fran and said this, in part:
“Talk is cheap,” Reddick told Dave Uram of radio station KYW. “They get to come back in the Linc. It was a lot of boo hoos last year, a lot of crying, a lot of what if, a lot of this, a lot of that. They get a chance to come back in here, line that shit up and prove it again.”
Deebo went on Kay Adams’ show and more or less tripled down on the Bradberry thing, then made an unintentionally hilarious comment:

“Whatever Kyle (Shanahan) has me do, I’m gonna do it, I’m not gonna go up to him and be like ‘yo let me chip this guy, or anything like that.'”
Yeah well maybe he should ask to chip! Because his offensive genius head coach decided to use a backup tight end to block Reddick 1v1 on the play that got Brock Purdy injured. Then the scheme called for George Kittle to come across the formation with a wham block, which turned into a total whiff and got Josh Johnson blown up.
Here’s the thing with Deebo, too –
He hasn’t been playing at some Pro Bowl level this year. Nine games (missed two with a shoulder injury), 34 receptions, 474 yards, and one touchdown. He had a great game in Seattle, but he’s third on the team in receiving yards and three of his four scores are on running plays. He gets his red zone carries, and he’s a versatile player, but he’s not Brandon Aiyuk in the passing game right now and he’s not Christian McCaffrey in either phase. When you game plan for San Fran’s offense, you’re focused on who? Certainly McCaffrey, Aiyuk, and Shanahan’s scheme, plus Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and Deebo is also there. He’s not some bum, but he’s also not the #1 guy you’re worried about. Plus, when the Eagles played the Dolphins, they did really well shutting down all of those crack tosses and sweep-type running plays. Reddick and Josh Sweat got vertical, set the edges, and shut that shit down, as Negan from The Walking Dead once said:

All of that said, Deebo Samuel must be booed like no one has ever been booed before. Reddick needs to lay the hardest, cleanest, most legal hit on Deebo. And the Eagles need to go out and beat San Fran again to prove that the NFC Championship Game wasn’t a fluke. Maybe then the incessant whining will stop.
