Doug Pederson Addresses Fletcher Cox Situation, Reads Off Laundry List of Injuries

Doug Pederson’s midweek press conference didn’t deliver much positive news at all.
Here’s the injury update:
- Avonte Maddox is not ready yet because the neck is still an issue, it’s a head+neck injury, not just a concussion
- he expects Ronald Darby to “be out there” this week
- DeSean Jackson won’t practice with the team but will continue to run and rehab
- Nigel Bradham will “ramp his rehab up,” not expected to practice today
- Tim Jernigan’s progression also expected to increase this week
- Jason Peters will work on conditioning but won’t practice today
- Hassan Ridgeway is a “little bit longer, week to week with him”
RE: Fletcher Cox and last week’s break-in incident, Doug was asked how the team is handling the situation:
“The police are handling it. It’s a personal issue, so I’m out of it.”
Pederson went on to say that the illness that kept Cox out of practice last Wednesday was “unrelated” to the police incident.
He was also asked about security measures the team takes when something like this happens:
As far as a security issue, we get into it and the police get involved. From that standpoint I can’t do anything other than hear the results of the investigation and what comes out of that. Obviously we do our best to protect our players here on premise, but they have personal lives. We all have personal lives and things are gonna come up. We do the best we can to educate our players and protect them the best we can.
Here’s the full audio of Doug’s presser. He said the team is mad about Sunday but taking ownership of the loss:
