Orlando Arcia Gave Manny Machado a Hug After Two-Run Double in Playoff Elimination Game

Earlier in the week it was Darius Slay going on Micah Parsons’ podcast, now it’s Orlando Arcia giving Manny Machado a bro hug in the middle of a playoff elimination game:

Get Arcia off this team now.” Sounds like something your dad would say about a Philly sports athlete. Donovan McNabb is laughing on the bench after throwing an interception and “needs to be cut.”

Seems like Braves fans dislike the guy as much as we do at this point. If you type “Arcia Machado” into the Twitter search box you get this:

  • “My Arcia hatred has grown exponentially. You’re hugging Machado at 2nd base mid game?”
  • “Can they clear out Arcia’s locker now? Dude seriously out there hugging Machado after he just got a back breaking hit against you in a playoff game. Don’t give a shit about doing that before a game but that’s total bullshit to do that in the game.”
  • “I can’t stand arcia. Out here hugging machado after he just ended your season. Screw this dude. Should have paid Swanson just so we didn’t have to see him”
  • “Anybody else bothered by Arcia giving Machado a big hug at second base after his bases loaded double? Who does that.”
  • “This team has no heart. Arcia out hugging Machado during a game he can GTFO this offseason”
  • “If the Braves have Orlando Arcia as the starting shortstop in 2025 I’m going to commit crimes”
  • “I turned it off after Arcia hugged Machado at second. They’re checked out”

That last line sums it up I think. That Braves team clawed their way into the playoffs on the final day of the season, the second half of a doubleheader, but they seemed checked out because of the injury situation. No Strider, no Acuna for most of the year. That Padres team is really good, by the way. They’re gonna give the Dodgers a run for their money. We’d like to thank the Atlanta Braves for participating in the MLB postseason. Until next year!
