Saquon Barkley Files Trademark for Silhouette of Backwards Hurdle

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has taken a significant step in securing his brand off the field.
On March 13, Barkley filed a trademark application for a silhouette of his now-famous reverse hurdle move from a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 3, 2024.

This latest move is part of a broader strategy by Barkley to build a comprehensive personal brand. Earlier this year, he filed trademarks for “2KSA” and “Shayshawn Barkley.” The “2KSA” trademark came just days after he surpassed 2,000 total yards for the season in a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The “Shayshawn Barkley” filing was inspired by a viral street interview in which a fan mispronounced his name.
Seems like you can trademark anything these days. Howie Roseman is filing trademarks, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, etc. Might as well. Gotta build that brand and get “the bag,” as the kids like to say.
The filing says they’ll use the image for “T-shirts; Hoodies; Sweatshirts; Sweatpants; Joggers being pants; Headwear, namely, caps; Beanies; Bucket hats.” Here’s the submitted design:
