Voila_Capture 2014-03-02_05-19-49_PMHuge comeback by the Flyers, who now have 11 come-from-behind third period wins– the all-time record is 15. From their city-leading PR department:

The Flyers erased a 4-2 third-period deficit to pick up the win.  It marked the 11th time this seaon the Flyers have won a game when trailing at some point in the third period.  They are now 7-17-3 when trailing after two periods; the seven wins are tied with NYI for the most in the NHL in that situation.

Claude Giroux had two goals and an assist to record his fourth game this season of three or more points.  He recorded five shots on goal, took another four that were blocked, and recorded four hits as well as going 14-for-21 on faceoffs.

Giroux tied it with about a minute to go…

… and then Vinny Lecavalier won it in overtime:

The Flyers are getting so good at this sort of thing that I might start using that hokey #clutchtime* hashtag. Maybe.

Non-Olympian Giroux is, predictably, playing out of his god damned mind since being left off Team Canada. He has nine goals and 14 assists in the 20 games since Steve Yzerman punched him in the back on January 7. I don’t feel like looking it up, but that has to be close to the most in hockey over that span. And the Flyers are now second – at least briefly – in the Metropolitan Division, thanks to Giroux’s hate-pwning.

We’re mostly sold out of the original Geezus shirt and got a lot of feedback that people wanted it with just G’s pearly whites and flowing ginger locks. Would you buy one of these bad boys?

*I feel like combining “clutch” and “crunch” would give you an even better word: #clunchtime. Sounds effectively nasty. Let’s go with that.
