Mike Francesa is Leaving His Afternoon Drive Shift, Again

Remember when Mike Francesa retired in 2017 and then un-retired four months later?
He’s giving up afternoon drive again, with Entercom today confirming reports that the sports talk veteran would vacate his role next month. Francesa was originally replaced by former WIP host Chris Carlin and two other people back in 2017, then booted them off the shift when he came back.
Francesa will stick around in a different capacity, doing this, according to corporate big wigs:
Francesa will still have a role with WFAN though, according to Entercom New York regional president Susan Larkin, and will also now have a bigger role with the company’s Radio.com. The details are both remain under wraps.
“Mike Francesa will continue to be part of WFAN, and will soon also have an expanded role on Radio.com,” Larkin said in a statement provided to NJ Advance Media. “While we are still finalizing details, this is an exciting move to bring more of Mike’s iconic sports talk content to fans across broadcast and digital in new, engaging ways wherever and however loyal sports fans want it. Stay tuned as we will be sharing more details in the weeks to come.”
Francesa was accused of farting on the air Monday, a claim he vigorously denied today. But whomever “denied it, supplied it,” as we used to say in 6th grade.
Judge for yourself:
It's been brought to my attention that Mike rips a yuge fart at the 0:18 mark. I have confirmed this to be true. https://t.co/iQ0I4gyiXo
