Bryce Harper Hit For the Cycle in Five Innings

Bryce Harper hit for the cycle for the first time in his career on Saturday night vs. the Mets…and he did it in five innings.
Harper started off the game with a solo home run, giving the Phillies an early 1-0 lead. He followed that up with a double in the 3rd, and a single in the fourth.
Harper stepped up to the plate in the 5th inning, and I’d be shocked if he didn’t have one thing on his mind. He roped a ball to the W.B Mason sign in left-center field, and from the second he made contact, you could tell he wanted that triple. He ripped his helmet off rounding second base, slid into third, and threw his arms up in the air in rejoice.
Bryce Harper is the 11th player in Phillies history to hit for the cycle. The most recent was Weston Wilson back on August 16th, 2024. As Harper walked off of third base after the fifth inning, he received a roaring applause from a huge Citizens Bank Park crowd. He tipped his helmet and smiled. Trea Turner came over and gave him a hug as he ran out to shortstop.
The Phillies are smoking the Mets, 13-3 in the 7th inning. Tonight has been one of the best crowds of the season, and for a good reason. The Phillies had 13 runs and 15 hits in the first 5 innings, Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs totaling 900+ feet in one inning, and Bryce Harper hit for the cycle.
LOL Mets!
