“Mike, I just can’t see the ball… and my arm hurts.”
“Mine too.”

Casper Wells was placed on the DL today with “vision complications” after going 0-7 with four strikeouts and throwing 40 pitches and taking the loss in an 18-inning battle on Saturday night.

There’s an obvious joke to be made here about Wells not being able to see Major League pitches. But that’s if you believe that he actually has vision complications and not a, you know, blown out right shoulder or terribly bruised ego.

Or, maybe he does have a vision problem. Maybe he looked in the mirror and couldn’t see himself. Ghost.

UPDATE: Reader Brad points out that Wells was wearing glasses early in the game but then removed them by the end of the night:

I went back and checked– Wells was not wearing the glasses during his first at-bat, but was during his second at-bat (I couldn’t bring myself to watch his other six plate appearances):

Maybe there is something to this and I’m just an asshole. Maybe.
