Not only is she better than boys, but she’s also better than the robots.
Remember a few months ago when I told you about the robots that will eventually replace Flyers beat writers? Well, a technology similar to the one mentioned in that story produces automated game recaps for Game Changer, a site focusing on amateur sports… and, um, oops, it got a little confused when it came to Mo’Ne [via Jim Romensko]
Game Changer tweeted that they have fixed the glitch and will monitor all future updates.
Meanwhile, outgoing Phillies GM Ruben Amaro is flat-out impressed by Mo’Ne. He commented on ESPN Sport Science’s piece comparing her to Jonathan Papelbon:
“Pretty awesome. I was watching the other day and they did a show about the mechanics of the team, of [Davis], and they equated it to the mechanics of Papelbon, in maximizing her ability to [get behind the ball],” Amaro said Sunday in San Francisco. “It’s pretty amazing. The velocity is pretty amazing. When you get right down to it, a person throwing 70 mph at that age? I don’t think I could pick up a baseball and throw 70 mph right now.”
Just like Papelbon? Amaro says. Let’s sign her to a lengthy, franchise-crippling contract!
