ESPN Deportes is reporting that Jose Contreras and the Phillies are close to agreeing on a two-year, $5 million deal. That's not Carts money, but it's a good move for both sides.
Contreras, will turn "39" in December, was 6-4 with a 3.34 ERA this season. The deal reportedly includes incentive options for a third year.
