The Phillies swept the Padres for the second time in eight days. THAT’S WHAT’S IN:

Adolis went deep, to help the sweep –

that’s what’s in

Zack Wheeler went seven, and Fernando Tatis couldn’t hit anything –

that’s what’s in

Brandon Marsh had 7 hits, gave the Padres fits –

that’s what’s in

four hits today for Bohm and Stott, Padres throwing slop –

that’s what’s in

San Diego zero wins, against the Fightins –

that’s what’s in

Good song, yeah? It’s a remix.

The Phillies are 33-29 and have won 7 of 9. Six of those victories against the Padres, but they count just the same. Up next is a three-game home series with the Chicago White Sox, then it’s up to Toronto for three and Milwaukee for three before four straight NL East series, playing the Marlins, Mets, Nationals, and then Mets. Six at home, then six on the road. There’s a really good opportunity coming up here to push beyond .500 and try to close the gap with the Braves, which stands at nine games. The Phillies would be a Wild Card team if the playoffs began today.
