Let’s recap:  Johan Santana ejaculated on a leg, Francisco Rodriguez beat up his common law father-in-law, and one Met openly wanted to leave the team– all within the last year.  These are facts.

Now, perhaps the shittiest of all.

Carlos Beltran, Oliver Perez, and Luis Castillo skipped out on a team visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  Their excuses?

Beltran claims he had a meeting for his own charity.  [NY Post]

“I don’t know who is creating this issue, but [last] offseason I went to visit a veteran’s hospital in New York, so it’s not that I’m against it,” Beltran said. “I went with Fred Wilpon, I liked it and I wanted to go [this time]. But I had my own things to do and I couldn’t make it.”

Fair enough.  

But Perez and Castillo?  They're just jackasses.

“I don’t like to see people like that, so I never go there,” Castillo said. “Sometimes you see people with no legs, no arms. I don’t like to see that.”

“I don’t answer anything about outside the stadium,” Perez said.
