Zack Wheeler and Kyle Schwarber will represent the Phillies in the 2025 All-Star Game.

This will be the second time that Kyle Schwarber will head to the All-Star Game as a member of the Phillies, and the 3rd time that Wheeler will represent the Phillies.

In the nicest way possible, Trea Turner got absolutely robbed. Turner is slashing .299/.351/.451 with an .802 OPS this year with 11 home runs, 39 RBIs, 109 hits, and 18 doubles. Turner leads all of the National League in hits, with Austin Riley in 2nd place, trailing him by 10 hits.

Cristopher Sanchez and Ranger Suarez also had a very, very good case for the game. It’s more surprised that Sanchez didn’t make it, just because Suarez is not yet a qualified pitcher, but both deserve to be in Atlanta in two weeks.

Sanchez has dazzled this season, sporting a 2.68 ERA in 100.2 innings, a 7-2 record, and 108 strikeouts. Ranger Suarez, prior to yesterday, turned in 10-straight quality starts, and holds a 1.99 ERA in 77 total innings.

There’s no word yet on if Zack Wheeler will start the game, but he surely deserves it. Wheeler tossed a 1-hit shutout on Sunday afternoon, his first complete game since August 8th, 2021, on Roy Halladay Day.

There’s always a chance more guys will get invited as replacements. Some guys won’t pitch because it’s out of their routine, like Wheeler last year. If one or two NL pitchers can’t go, I’d assume one of Sanchez/Suarez will be down in Atlanta on July 15th.

Kyle Schwarber noted postgame to reporters that he will not take part in the Home Run Derby this year.
