I talked about this yesterday, that I’m over the MVP discussion, but after last night’s performance vs. the Pacers Joel Embiid pulled me back in. Now I’m ready to fight with any Jokic stan that comes in the way of Joel winning MVP.  The Sixers were on the brink of blowing another 20+ point lead until the Basketball Gods gave us a gift; ejecting DeAndre Jordan for a flagrant 2 foul. Embiid had to come back in earlier than usual in the 4th and the Sixers never looked back. He’s now the scoring leader with three games left to go. He’d be the first center to win the scoring title since Shaq and the first to average more than 30 in under 40 minutes per game:

Joel Embiid is on track to become the 6th Center in NBA history to average 30+ points per game, and is the first to accomplish that in under 20 shots per game.

He would also be the first C to average 30+ in under 40MPG.

What can’t Joel do? He can score 40+ with his eyes closed at this point, get 15 boards, and stop fights from breaking out on the team plane over a card game. Give him the damn MVP! –
