So You’re Telling Me There’s a Chance: LeBron James to the Sixers Hovering Around 15%

As the days keep passing by without LeBron James signing for a new team, the Sixers’ chances of landing him keep on climbing. Wednesday, Kalshi has that possibility in the mid-teens, with the market steadily moving in Philadelphia’s favor over the last few days:
15% is pretty damn good. According to the most updated reports, LeBron is most seriously considering Cleveland, Miami, and Philly, and not necessarily in that order – those are just the last three teams standing. Kalshi gives Cleveland the highest percentage at 49%, Golden State is still at 17% despite not being mentioned in the latest reports, and Miami is at 15%. If we’re purely talking betting, Philly is my favorite move here – bet a dollar and make almost seven bucks. It’s still a long shot percentage-wise, but it’s a smart upside play with everything coming out of LeBron’s camp on Wednesday:
Also, from a basketball standpoint, LeBron to the Sixers still makes the most sense. Cleveland has two high-usage guards in Donovan Mitchell and James Harden and limited spacing with paint-clogging, non-shooting bigs in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, making for a terrible fit. Adding LeBron to Miami would be even worse; its frontcourt is already set with ball-dominant non-shooters in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. In Philadelphia, LeBron would fit seamlessly. He’s the perfect jumbo playmaker to orchestrate an offense for elite scorers Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown (and Joel Embiid when he’s healthy). Philly’s shooting threats – including Anfernee Simons, V.J. Edgecombe, and Dean Wade – would make for excellent spacing and give LeBron wide-open driving lanes. All in all, the Sixers give LeBron the best chance to chase a ring without having too much scoring responsibility on his plate.
My guess is he goes to the Sixers this year, then plays one more season in Cleveland the year after that. LeBron to Philadelphia at 15% on Kalshi sounds pretty solid to me.
