Mike Missanelli vs. JAKIB Media: Judge Sets Summer Date for Jury Trial
Update here on everybody’s favorite story, which is the court battle between Mike Missanelli and JAKIB Media founder Joe Krause.
Last month, Krause motioned for a stay in the proceedings until the resolution of Missanelli’s criminal case. Mike was arrested on April 8th, after allegedly striking his fiance during an argument, leading to a second degree simple assault charge and summary offense harassment charge. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this month.
The judge presiding over this case denied the motion, and issued the following order after a Pretrial conference:

There are eight more bullet points of legalese in the scheduling order, outlining what each party has to do before the trial. They have until July 8th to exchange copies of exhibits and identity witnesses and do related procedural things.
Looking through the public records, there were pretrial memoranda filed before the conference. These are formal, written documents submitted to a judge that summarize an argument and list out evidence and witness plans. Most of the stuff included in each document is a repeat of what these guys have been battling over for almost two years now, but taking a glance at each one, Krause reiterates that Missanelli did not perform all of the required components of his contract, which extended beyond hosting Eagles postgame shows on the JAKIB YouTube channel:
“While Plaintiff participated in certain post-game broadcasts, he failed to perform most of the weekly deliverables that were essential to the campaign, including the weekly digital program, promotional obligations, appearances, and coordinated social media activity. As a result, the integrated media campaign was never completed as contemplated.”
…
“In addition, although the parties exchanged draft versions of an Independent Contractor Agreement describing these deliverables, no written agreement was ever finalized or executed. The parties’ course of dealing is illustrated by the fact that an identical arrangement in the 2022 NFL season resulted in a fully executed written contract, in contrast to the unsigned draft and continued negotiations in 2023.”
Krause argues that he’s suffered reputational harm as a result of the litigation. Further down the document, he proposes that the trial be streamed live via a stationary camera and “sent directly to Defendant’s JAKIB Sports YouTube channel via Starlink internet connection.”
Missanelli’s statement is more than 200 pages long and was put together by his lawyer, Kevin Wright. It reiterates the claim that Mike was not fully paid for the work he did on the JAKIB YouTube shows and argues that the contract terms were agreed upon in email exchanges between Krause and Mike’s agent, Steve Mountain. Wright says that Missanelli appeared in 18 postgame shows during the 2023-2024 Eagles season and references an affidavit from Mountain and Krause’s summer, 2025 deposition. Wright also states that Krause agreed to pay the outstanding money, but reneged:
“Mr. Krause then continued to confirm that he owed the above money, and reiterated multiple times via both email and text message that he owed the above money, up to the date on which this lawsuit was filed. Mr. Krause is now contending that despite the performance of Plaintiff consistent with the written agreement, and despite Mr. Krause’s written correspondence confirming the payments owed consistent with the written agreement, that a valid contract did not exist and therefore he does not owe Plaintiff the remaining monies due under the contract.”
Missanelli’s statement lists a settlement demand at $75,134. Krause said publicly back in November of 2024 that he turned down a settlement offer amounting to $40,000.
That’s the CliffsNotes for now. The lawsuit was filed back on August 6th of 2024, so it should wrap up a little more than two years later.
