This is pretty good. England is playing an exhibition game against Costa Rica in Orlando this evening and it rained buckets earlier, which happens in Florida.

The British fans and media seem surprised that the water has drained from the pitch:

The game’s been delayed, but it sounds like they’ll be able to play it. That’s some good drainage down there.

Now, Orlando isn’t a World Cup venue, but Miami is, and it rains there, too. Presumably, they have good drainage at Hard Rock as well. But the Brits have been the #1 whiners about this World Cup and I think they’re gonna be in for a surprise. They’re gonna survive the heat. They won’t get shot or deported or put in an ICE detention facility. The pitches will hold up and nobody will be bitten by a venomous snake. I think they’re gonna go back to London and Manchester and various countryside hamlets and tell everyone they had a great time over here.
