RADIO WARS: WIP Officially Announces That Tony Bruno and Josh Innes Will Host Afternoons from 1-6

And that there is the official announcement– as foretold.
Interesting to me that Josh Innes clearly got top billing, at least in this particular spot. Me thinks the big news is Tony Bruno heading to WIP– not Innes moving to Afternoons. But Innes getting the spotlight isn’t particularly surprising, because as we’ve said before, WIP Operations Manager Andy Bloom Celine Dion loooooooves Innes and thinks he’s the next Howard Stern. Most of Innes’ peers at WIP, consequently, hate him.
I believe the plan is for the pair to start next Wednesday. Look for WIP to concoct a WWE-type storyline about why they’re not starting on Monday.
Regardless of when they officially debut, or what you think of Innes or his pairing with Bruno, they will directly compete with the reigning champ, Mike Missanelli, who is dismissive of the challenger:
What about now-crossfire-victim Rob Ellis? He’ll move to nights, for now, in the 6-10 slot. But I can’t imagine he’s happy about what’s transpired. SEND IT TO THE MAESTRO:
