The Eagles acquired guard Reggie Wells from Arizona today in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick. Wells started 90 straight games for the Cardinals dating back to 2003.
The move gives the Eagles more depth in front of Kevin Kolb. According to Sal Paolantonio, the Eagles are concerned with Kolb's ability to read the blitz, and that is the main reason for rushing Jamal Jackson back. Earlier this week, Jackson said there was a 99.9% chance he would play in week 1.
Adding a veteran guard should help stabilize the line- then again, Wells isn't that good.

Not a bad move. I guess this says more how concerned they are with the health of Jackson and how bad Stacey Andrews looks right now. Cole is going to have to start at either Center or Guard. Also with Herremans basically also your backup Tackle if anything happens to Peters or Justice, you need another guard to plug in there.
Oh well, hopefully Kolb won't end up shellshocked before long.

"isn't that good"? He can't be that bad if he started 90-straight games.
