This is our second annual "Top Ten Philly Sports Moments of the year." You can find last year's list here. We will roll out a new moment each day (one over the weekend) from now until New Year's Eve.
As we mentioned earlier in this top ten, the departure of Donovan McNabb on Easter Sunday paved the way for some incredible moments.
The afternoon of the Eagles' Monday night game against the Redskins, I wrote the following:
It sounds kind of a lot corny to say this, but tonight will be the biggest game of Michael Vick's career. It's the stuff movies are made of. He has a chance to put his team in a first place tie with the Giants by beating Donovan McNabb on Monday Night Football.
For those of you who read this site, you know that I am rarely melodramatic. But this is an incredible story that is playing out before our very eyes.
It was the perfect blend of intrigue, importance, and excitement. It was Vick vs. McNabb, an NFC East Rivalry to show that the Eagles had made the right choice- both in letting McNabb go and signing the controversial quarterback.
And it didn't disappoint. Video after the jump.
Rest of the Top Ten here. As always, leave your memories of this moment in the comments.

I can’t wait until the Eagles trade Kolb who becomes a star, give Vick a bunch of money and then he goes back to being a dumb faggot
James I love how you wasted how ever long it took for you to type that up. You have that little a life that you just had to go out of your way to post that? Grow up.
james niggly is kevin kolbs mom.
Have to agree with Eric on this one. I’ve noticed you’re pretty good at making ridiculous and stupid statements. I think your IQ might be right around room temperature.
Yeah James, because, you know, us Philadelphians being able to separate the athlete from the person outside of the game means we enjoy the intimate company of other men. Wow, you’re a genius.
James. I’m glad you are an enlightened individual. LOL. As Eagles fans, obviously we are glad Mike Vick plays for the Eagles. He is playing great. If he played for another team we would hate him just the same as Romo, Eli, Brady, etc. But that does not mean we would be calling him “n*gger dog killer” (your words). You clearly are not the most open minded yourself and even more clearly, you are not even a Eagles or Philadelphia sports fan. So what are you doing on a Philly sports blog?
I can’t wait to see how Halladay’s perfect game, Halladay’s playoff no hitter, Lee being signed, and The Miracle at the New Meadowlands get ranked.
Being a faggot, because people named James Niggly have nothing better to do than get on their knees for guys in alleyways.
Ironic that #7 is moment #5…..LOVE IT!!! Just another subliminal tea bag in #5′s eye….
my favorite!
