Philly teams, for the most part, have been slow to come around. The Flyers are probably the best, though their updates are mostly mundane. The Eagles are getting better at it. And the Sixers have given up on trying to promote themselves.
Then there’s the Phillies.
We talked about this before, but their Tweets are so lame and unimaginative it’s hard to believe that they aren’t parodies of themselves. The latest contest – which, per the norm, included a stodgy disclaimer – is for an awful Phillies social media shirt with Jimmy Rollins’ Johnny Hancock on it. The accompanying text on a question that is so easy it’s offensive is essentially a metaphor for the Phillies’ baseball philosophy– live in the past:
Cool, guys. Really… really cool.
