Middleton family taking over.
John POWERS Middleton – son of a billionaire, friend of Leo, and apparently all-around good dude – gave two four tickets to a game late last month to All-Star CB reader Jared simply because he showed his loyalty to the team by sticking it out and continuing to attend games during this bleck of a season:
Is that cool? Uh, yeah, that’ll do, POWERS.
Jared, whom I know a little bit from his fandom – having met him at a bar last year – is a frequent reader and site tipster, and an all-around Philly sports fan. So he was legitimately deserving of the tickets. He explained that after telling Middleton – who has previously questioned the allegiance of those who have given up over these past few seasons – about meeting his wife at Game 5 of the 2008 World Series, he figured he’d take a shot in the dark and ask for some tickets. Not only did Middleton oblige, but, as you can see, personally saw to it that Jared was hooked up.
And in that one brief Facebook exchange, Middleton has now been more effective in social media use than the entire Phillies PR staff combined.
