If a Sports Talk Radio Show Asks Listeners the Dumbest Question of All-Time, Should We Stop Listening to the Station?

I’m not listening because I literally never listen on purpose to Mike and Ike, but this topic, tweeted out by the account and presumably teased around on-air by Michael Barkann and Brian Haddad (SLUDGE!), who was filling in for Ike Reese, is about as moronic, bottom-of-the-barrel and lame as sports talk radio fodder can get. Behold, dumbness:
If Bryan Colangelo does not land the Sixers a big name FA (this summer), is he a failure? @SportsRadioWIP

Yeah, great question. The Sixers are smack-dab in the middle of a rebuild and possess the number one pick in the draft and potentially franchise-altering young talent. Barring the incredible, they’re still at least two years away from actually contending. But fuck it, let’s see if we can generate calls on this shortened, post-holiday week by batting around the dumbest question ever and asking our esteemed callers if the new GM should be judged as a failure if he doesn’t sign a big-name free agent just to eek out a few more wins next season. Sure, would we all love Kevin Durant? You bet, Jo Jo. But assuming that a Durant-broker wasn’t initiated by Adam Silver when he took over the Sixers and awarded them the number one pick, there’s no way something like that is happening. Not yet. Foundation first, then the frame. Right now the Sixers barely have the hole dug and WIP is already doing what Philly does best and being completely irrational. I hate this town sometimes. I hate it like a damp stick.
