First, the good part about the Phillies:

They won.

And Nick Pivetta looked good after an awful first inning. He gave up two home runs to Paul Goldschmidt and Marcell Ozuna in the first four at-bats to put the Phillies in a 3-0 hole before they came up to bat for the first time. But Pivetta then gave up one hit to the next 17 batters and struck out six in five total innings of work. The bullpen also gave up one more hit in four innings of work.

The bats were good as well, with Bryce Harper driving in two runs on a double in the third, and Cesar Hernandez continuing his hot streak with a two-run homer the following inning.

Aaron Nola takes the mound tonight against Génesis Cabrera, who’s making his MLB debut. First pitch is at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Now to the bad stuff:

Odubel Herrera was arrested Monday night in Atlantic City and charged with domestic violence. He’s on administrative leave, per MLB. Both Matt Klentak and Gabe Kapler discussed the incident prior to Tuesday’s game. Andrew McCutchen started at center field last night, but Scott Kingery could get more time at the position while Herrera sits out for who knows how long.
