Britt Reid Charged with DWI
From KSHB-TV, the NBC affiliate out in Kansas City:
Former Chiefs assistant linebackers coach Britt Reid has been charged with driving while intoxicated in connection with a Feb. 4 crash that left a 5-year-old girl with a brain injury.
The Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced Monday that Reid has been charged with DWI, a class D felony with a potential jail sentence of one to seven years. Prosecutors have requested a $100,000 bond.
It’s been more than two months since the car crash, which took place prior to Super Bowl weekend. Reid, who is Andy’s son, allegedly drove onto a highway entrance ramp and struck two other vehicles that were parked on the shoulder. Injured in the accident was a five-year-old girl, who was confined to a wheelchair after suffering brain damage, but at last check was said to be “getting a little better each day”.
Reid was working with the Chiefs as an assistant, but his contract expired after the team placed him on administrative leave following the accident.
