Darius Slay is “tired of this DB shit” –

You can tell the guys love Jalen. Top to bottom, every dude on the 53 would run through a brick wall for this kid. I saw some people, mostly Dan Sileo, mentioning they were worried about paying Hurts $40-$50 million a year since he has a small sample size of playing at an MVP level. He even referenced Carson Wentz as an example as to why the Eagles shouldn’t. I’m not linking to the video because that dude traffics in hate for Jalen and doesn’t deserve anymore views. Also because he’s wrong.

Jalen Hurts is having a better 2022 than Carson Wentz had in 2017 with a comparable team.

Here’s another thing to take into consideration:

This team likes Jalen Hurts a hell of a lot more than that 2017 team and beyond liked Wentz. Between Darren Sproles almost having to beat him up, to the anonymous sources of Josina Anderson, and everything else we’ve learned about and Wentz has admitted to since he’s left, it’s night and day. It’s not like 60% like Hurts, 30% are indifferent, and the other 10% hate his guts. From the outside, it looks like everyone from the team, staff, and front office love him. The video of him after the Birds were up 21-0 of him still locked in is worth $50 million alone:

Not to mention, it’ll be looked at as a discount in two years as the next QB gets paid and the next QB gets paid while the salary cap continues to rise. Finally, if Jalen turns back into a pumpkin, Howie Roseman already showed you he’s able to get off of an “un-tradeable contract” and be successful at it. Two years ago we were preparing for a rebuild.

There is not one thing that worries me about paying Jalen Hurts top five QB money. The dude is a winner, he doesn’t get injured, and he’s proven he can be successful in every phase of the game. In 18 years there is going to be an entirely new Jalen Generation.

SHOW ME THE MONEY!
