Dallas Goedert Basically Admitting that the Eagles Overlooked the Giants and Cardinals
We’re having fun doing hockey, but it’s time to get it back to the Eagles:

If you missed it earlier this week, Dallas Goedert came out and said of the Eagles that “everybody has just been waiting for the playoffs,” which seemed to suggest that they were throttling down to a lower gear and putting themselves in cruise control with first place in the conference on the line.
In the “clarification,” he suggests that they were overlooking Arizona and New York:
“You look at the schedule before the season and notice what looked like easy games at the end of the season, games that we expected to win, without doing anything. We lost a couple of games in the hard stretch and (were like) ‘it’s okay, we’ll win the games at the end of the year.’ The three games at the end of the year that seem really winnable. We might have overlooked it, coasted and expected our talent to win games…”
They were basically framing the season the way we were. Get through that gauntlet in decent shape, which they did at 3-2, and then club some bad teams and win the division. Instead, they underestimated the level of competition, and now they’re the 5 seed and headed to Tampa. For what it’s worth, they’re still holding as a three-point favorite, so while Birds fans might be out, Vegas is not.
