Jason Kelce Won't Be Charged in Penn State Phone-Smashing Incident
TMZ:
Jason Kelce can officially move on from the phone-smashing incident at Penn State last month … as University Police tell TMZ Sports they’ve closed the investigation into the incident.
A spokeswoman for the department told us the case has been closed, as “The individual in the video footage circulating on social media has not been identified, and no one has come forward to University Police with a related complaint about damage to personal property.”
Luigi Mangione wasn’t the only person hiding out in Altoona. There was no chance that Penn State kid was coming forward after that video went mega-viral. I’m still shocked Penn State police or someone on the Internet weren’t able to identify the kid. The only finger-pointing I saw was people wrongly accusing a player on the hockey team, but his alibi was that the team was away that weekend so those allegations quickly got scrapped.
Kinkead had a good point about the Kelces on Monday:
My takeaway is that while some people feel a Kelce oversaturation, it’s not reflected nationally, nor has it resulted in any kind of tangible negative.*
The more I think about it, I sense a lot of the anti-Kelce stuff is politically and socially motivated, basically people who think Travis is a liberal loser who promotes the COVID shot and dates Taylor Swift. And then Jason and Kylie take some collateral because of association. They’re absorbing shrapnel and not direct hits.
I’ll never understand losing sleep over a celebrities’ assumed politics, but that’s 2024 on the Internet. I just think the Penn State kid should be locked up. Doing this online as some faceless dork behind a computer is one thing. Actually doing it in real life is borderline psychotic. I don’t want a dude walking around this Earth who thinks it’s ok to go up to someone call them a slur and record themselves doing it. That kid’s lucky the only thing that got smashed in was his phone screen. That’s the type of dude who reviews the Unabomber’s Manifesto and gives it 4/5 stars:

I really want to know what it was that didn’t allow him to give that final star! Was it the prose? The sentence structure? Was his concluding message not strong enough? Where’s Diane Sawyer to ask the questions America wants?
Good news is the university can now put another stain behind them and focus on Penn State’s first CFP game ever! It’s not against a top-5 opponent so I’m sure they’ll be fine.
