Pennsylvania gaming experienced record highs in November, due in part to all-time highs in PA online sports betting and iGaming revenues.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported a record $562.3 million in gaming revenue for November, an all-time high for the state, which was a 26% increase from the November 2023 revenue total.

Total tax revenues collected for all forms of gaming in the month was $232.8 million, also a record.

Highest Sports Betting, iGaming Revenue Ever

Pennsylvania joined Ohio, New York, Maryland, and North Carolina in record-setting sports betting months for November, driven by high interest in college and NFL football. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported $935,530,170 in total sports betting handle and $77.09 million in total revenue for the month.

The monthly handle total of $935.5 million was a record for the state, a 0.15% increase over the November 2023 total of $934.1 million.

“The taxable revenue figure for November 2024 was also a record monthly amount at $77,097,494, or 498% higher when compared to November 2023, when taxable revenue was $12,884,034,” the gaming control board reported.

Total PA online casino revenues totaled $200,490,599 for November 2024 compared with $158,015,003 in November 2023, an increase of 26.88%. Tax revenue generated from iGaming during November 2024 was $88,556,259. iSlots led the way for the month, with $148.6 million in revenue, topping iTable revenues at $49.5 million in November.

Online poker lagged behind at nearly $2.3 million for the month. Online poker revenues could be bolstered within the year when and if Pennsylvania joins the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. Pennsylvania gaming regulators recently received word from Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) for the commonwealth to begin the process to join the multi-state online poker organization. The Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) currently has five members, though only three have live online poker.

MSIGA is an agreement between the approved state to offer interstate poker for its customers. This allows customers to play in shared tables across the states and be involved in larger tournaments, increase the numbers of players, and allow operators to offer larger guaranteed pots and winnings.

Pennsylvania would be the sixth member of MSIGA, joining the following:

  • Nevada
  • Delaware
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • West Virginia
