Don’t let the Philadelphia 76ers get hot!

Okay, so a two-game winning streak to get within 1.5 games of the No. 10 seed isn’t exactly thrilling, but we’re working with baby steps right now.

Tuesday’s clash with Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers starts a vital six-game homestand against some of the more talented teams in the NBA.

And because this is the Sixers, of course, Joel Embiid and Paul George will not be on the floor to start said homestand, but despite that, the Sixers are only a four-point underdog and just +150 on the money line.

To be honest, that number seems a little bizarre given that the Lakers have won six of seven games and Davis is on an absolute tear right now. He had 21 points and 11 rebounds IN THE FIRST QUARTER Monday night in Charlotte and finished with a ridiculous 42-point, 23-rebound line. Who says he won’t do that again tonight against a Sixers lineup currently lacking any real paint presence? Andre Drummond is out again as well, so good luck Adem Bona!

The only thing truly going in the Sixers’ favor is that the Lakers could legitimately be tired. They played at Golden State on Saturday, flew cross-country to play Charlotte on Monday and then travelled up to Philadelphia overnight.

The Lakers are 3-1 straight up on the second leg of back-to-backs, but they are 1-1 on the second leg of road B2Bs.

The immediate look from a player prop perspective has to go to Davis and Tyrese Maxey.

Davis is averaging 26.8 points and 13.8 rebounds per game in January. He can reach the rebound mark with ease towering over Guershon Yabusele or whomever else starts at center. Again, pray for Bona because it could be a long night for him (or short if he gets into foul trouble) if Nick Nurse puts trust in the rookie.

Davis’ props sits at 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds. I would look into the rebound prop for sure. He produced 13 or more rebounds in six games this month and is regularly in double-double territory.

Maxey’s point prop is super duper inflated at 30.5, because well, the Sixers don’t have any other primary scorer available. He had 31 points on Saturday in Chicago without Paul George for half of the game. The shot volume is certainly going to be there, but Maxey could also have a great night and score in the high 20s, or even 30 right on the dot.

If the Sixers are going to be competitive, the supporting cast has to show up, and that means Kelly Oubre, Eric Gordon, and Yabusele have to perform well.

Oubre is coming off back-to-back double-doubles in which he scored 22 points in each game. Oubre’s point prop of 17.5 is attainable since he should be the No. 2 scoring option. I would look into Oubre’s 3s in this specific matchup because it will be harder to drive the lane against AD and LeBron.

Oubre’s hit multiple threes in three of his last five games, while Gordon is on a run of multiple threes made in nine of his last 10. Yabusele, like Oubre, hit multiple shots from downtown in three of the last five.

The Sixers typically don’t play the “Death by 1,000 3s” style, but they might have to tonight.

When you’re checking out this game on PA sports betting apps, FanDuel is offering a 30-percent profit boost on any NBA wager (I’d use that on Yabu or Oubre 2 3s). DraftKings has a handful of profit boosts available for Same Game Parlays. If you want to get a little wild, Maxey, Oubre, Gordon and Yabu to hit 2+ 3s each pays out around +450 before the boosts are applied.
