Massachusetts Gaming Commissioner Chirps Michael Rubin for Disastrous Markelle Fultz and Jayson Tatum Draft

Former Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin took part in a virtual meeting with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission on Wednesday morning, as Fanatics seeks a five-year betting license up there. Take the New England Patriots UNDER for total wins in 2025. About 15 minutes into the proceedings, one of the commissioners took a Celtics-related swing at Rubin:
Rubin should have immediately thrown Bryan Colangelo and his large collars under the bus. “Well listen sir, I wanted Jayson Tatum, but the General Manager who was installed by Adam Silver mucked it up. We wanted shot making on the perimeter but we got Thoracic Outlet Syndrome instead.” Rubin decided to play along though, probably the smart move since he needs something from these guys.
Another snippet:
MGC Commissioner Paul Brodeur: I think you’re overlooking you were in ownership in 2017… That was the year the sixers traded the rights to Jayson Tatum and received Markelle Fultz if memory serves.
Rubin: I would say it will go down as one of the biggest charitable contributions in sports that anyone has ever known. With that, it should be the fastest review, you guys should just thank me for everything in the state of Massachusetts. I think it was so bad I had to cease my ownership with the Philadelphia 76ers. Jayson Tatum was my guy, so I came to support him last year. After the humiliating, and embarrassing trading up to number one and being fleeced by the fine Boston Celtics, we just had to switch teams and get with the winning team.
Should Rubin have his Philly man card revoked? Some are asking! It’s gotta be tough when you have smile and nod and laugh along knowing that the other guy is a Celtics fan, and probably a Bruins and Red Sox fan by default.
By the way, Fanatics is currently operating in the Delaware Valley. Check out PA online casino or NJ online casino. Yeah sure, the Celtics won it all, but I didn’t watch a single minute of the finals because I was playing blackjack online casino. Go Sixers!
